What is a minimum fee for translation ?
We do not charge a minimum fee for certified or notarized translation. The price depends on the text volume or word count, the number of stamps in personal documents, and the language pair.
How can I get an estimate for translation ?
To provide an estimate for certified or any professional translation, we need to review a copy of the document. The estimate will depend on the volume of content or word count, language pair, and delivery time. Once you email us a copy of the document, we will respond with the estimated cost within 1-3 hours.
Do you charge for translation delivery ?
When the translation is ready, a scan of it will be emailed to you. A paper copy will also be mailed to your address by regular mail at no extra cost, or by XpressPost for an additional fee depending on your location.
Should I get certified or notarized translation ?
There is not much difference between certified and notarized translations. Both are equally legitimate and accepted by official institutions in Canada. When a certified translator is not registered for a specific language or dialect, a notarized translation can be used as a substitute for a certified translation.
How long does it take to get a document translated ?
As a rule, for a 1-3 page document, the turnaround time for translating your document would be 1-2 days, depending on the language pair and the translator’s workload. This is the timeline for a soft copy (scan). Regular mail within Ontario takes an additional 2-5 business days. XpressPost with tracking number is available, with an additional fee that will apply.
Should I ask for a scan or a paper copy ?
Our agency provides both a scanned translation and a paper copy. The Ministry of Transportation requires a paper copy only. In our experience, Immigration Canada requires uploading files, so a digital copy will serve a purpose. Yet, we recommend having a paper copy handy as well. We do not charge a regular mail fee.
May I ask my interpreter for advice ?
You may ask for advice, but it’s unlikely that you’ll receive it from a professional interpreter. They are trained to be impartial, follow a code of ethics which includes impartiality and confidentiality, thus they do not provide advice or consultation.
What translation is more expensive – certified or notarized ?
Presumably, a notarized translation might be more expensive because in addition to paying for the translation, a notary public fee will apply.
How long the agency keeps a copy of my files?
At our company, we understand the importance of ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ files and documents. That’s why we store a copy of every file for two years, giving you peace of mind that your information is safe and accessible if needed. However, after the two year period has passed, the copies are deleted from our database in order to maintain the integrity of our storage system.
